BetterAntispam vs Double Counter

Short answer: Double Counter focuses on alt detection, VPN and web verification, and a paid people-search called Doogle. BetterAntispam is an in-Discord protection stack: antispam, antiraid, raidmode, antinuke, honeypot, adblock, selfbot, antiping, image filter, cases and appeals, plus verification that includes Website Captcha. We have not benchmarked detection accuracy. This comparison covers published capabilities and workflow differences.
Editorial disclosure: This guide is published by BetterAntispam. We recommend BetterAntispam where it is the strongest overall fit for server protection, and we name the cases where Double Counter, Wick, Dyno, YAGPDB, Carl-bot, MEE6, ProBot, or Discord’s native tools may better serve a particular server. BetterAntispam numbers come from the bot’s source. Double Counter notes come from their docs, features page, and 4 October 2026 incident report, not a lab bake-off.
TL;DR: People searching double counter alternative, is double counter safe, and double counter data breach after 4 October 2026 usually want a verify bot that does not sell a public alt graph. Double Counter is a specialist: web verify, alts, VPN / proxy / Tor, and Doogle. BetterAntispam is the broader stack. Run/setupthen/verification settings(Administrator). Website Captcha adds Cloudflare Turnstile plus VPN, proxy, Tor, datacenter, and alt checks you turn on one by one. Staff see a summary, not raw IPs. There is no Doogle and no ad network on the verify page. Keep Double Counter only if a paid cross-server people-search is the product you actually want.

What people are actually searching
Google’s live suggestions in October 2026 cluster around leaving Double Counter, not a brand-versus-brand query. Autocomplete fills discord double counter alternative, double counter bot alternative, is double counter safe, double counter data breach, and double counter data leak. better anti spam discord bot and wick vs double counter sit next to those. The exact phrase betterantispam vs double counter is still thin, which is why this page names both products in the title and answers the comparison in the first paragraph.
Third-party comparison pages already occupy the same intent. Peakbot’s Double Counter compare (updated through July 2026) treats Double Counter as the alt / VPN specialist and Peakbot as the all-in-one. Peakbot’s 2026 alternatives list ranks restore / verify bots and security suites. RestoreCord vs Double Counter and VaultCord vs Double Counter 2026 argue backup and member recovery. AuthenticateMe vs Double Counter stays on check-by-check verification.
This page is the protection-stack version of that query. If you want server snapshots and authorized-member restore, read RestoreCord or VaultCord. If you want chat floods, join raids, staff nukes, honeypots, and a verify gate that includes Website Captcha, start here.
Double Counter in one paragraph
Double Counter’s getting started docs say all configuration happens in their Dashboard. Setup slash commands “do not function.” New members click a verification link, receive a verified role, and are checked for alts and VPN / hosting IPs. The bot is not retroactive: people already in the server are not recorded. Their features page lists alt detection, VPN / proxy / Tor blocking, device fingerprinting, three verification modes (on click, on join, automated screening), auto-ban, local or global databases, and a Pro tier that removes ads from the verify page.
The same company sells Doogle: paste a Discord user ID and get associated accounts from the verification graph, across more than 500,000 servers in their own writeup. The person searched is not notified. That is the product people mean when they ask whether Double Counter is “just a verify bot.”
BetterAntispam in the first command
Add BetterAntispam, pick the server, authorize it. There is no website account to create. Run /setup (Administrator) and pick a log channel. Then open /verification settings (Administrator) if the job is the door, /antispam settings if the job is chat, /antiraid settings and /raidmode if joins are the fire, or /antinuke settings if a staff token is the fear.
Docs: customer documentation. Paid extras: Shield in the application store. Support: Discord support server. Configuration stays inside Discord slash-command panels. Do not look for a BetterAntispam login to flip protection rules.
Feature comparison
We have not run Double Counter and BetterAntispam against the same raid dump and scored catch rates. Peakbot, RestoreCord, and VaultCord have not published that bake-off either. The table is published jobs, not a leaderboard.
| Job | BetterAntispam | Double Counter |
|---|---|---|
| Where you configure it | Slash commands (/setup, /settings, each settings panel) | Dashboard only; setup commands do not function |
| In-Discord verification | Button, image CAPTCHA, math, hidden word | Not the product. Members leave Discord for a web link |
| Website verification | Website Captcha: unique betterantispam.com link, Cloudflare Turnstile, per-check actions | Core product. Three modes on their features page |
| VPN / proxy / Tor | Website Captcha security detections (free for VPN, proxy, Tor, hidden VPN) | Yes, documented as VPN intrusions |
| Alt accounts | Same device, same IP, same network, alt of a banned member, look-alike names; local or global for your bans | Core product plus Doogle paid search |
| Public people-search | No | Doogle, 1 free search a week on their marketing page |
| Ads on the verify page | No | Free tier uses Ezoic; Pro removes ads |
| Chat antispam | /antispam settings: floods, duplicates, caps, ghost pings, links, embeds, reactions, edit spam, 50-word blacklist | Not published as a chat-flood product |
| Join raids | /antiraid settings (auto-scaling join rate, suspicion score, CAPTCHA gate) plus /raidmode | Features page lists “raid prevention”; we have not tested it |
| Compromised staff / bot | /antinuke settings watches the audit log | Not published as an anti-nuke suite |
| Trap channels | /honeypot settings (voice traps are Shield) | Not published |
| Ads in chat / profiles | /adblock settings | Not published |
| Self-bots | /selfbot settings (six detectors are Shield) | Not published |
| Ping protection | /antiping settings writes Discord AutoMod rules | Not published |
| Image scanning | /imagefilter settings (Shield entirely) | Not published |
| Cases, warns, appeals | /case, /warn, /appeal settings | Not the product |
| Cleanup | /purge, /nuke, /unnuke, /snipe, /autonuke, /lockdown, /serverlock, /slowmode, /invitelock, /dmlock, /prune | Not the product |
| Welcome / autorole | /welcome settings, /autorole | Custom verify copy is Pro; no general welcome system in their compare writeups |
| Bot look in this server | /customize (Shield): nickname, avatar, banner, name style | Not published |
| Retroactive on existing members | Verification can apply an unverified role to people already in the server | Not retroactive |
VaultCord’s 2026 compare makes the same split we will stand on: Double Counter is verification and alt detection. It is not your antispam bot, your anti-nuke, or your cleanup toolkit.
Website Captcha and full customization
/verification settings (Administrator) is five modes, not one:
| Mode | What the member does |
|---|---|
| Button | One click. No captcha challenge. |
| Image captcha | Type letters from a styled image. You set code length (4–10), noise (easy / medium / hard), numbers, and case. |
| Math | Quick arithmetic. |
| Word puzzle | Unscramble a 4–8 letter English word. |
| Website Captcha | Opens a one-time betterantispam.com link that expires in 15 minutes. Captcha plus the security detections below. |
Delivery is a pinned panel or a new message per join. If time runs out you can kick, timeout, assign the quarantine role, or leave them unverified. You set max attempts, round length, headline, supporting text, sidebar color, banner, and button wording from the same panel. Members run /verify. Staff can /force verify or /bypass.
Website Captcha is the mode that answers “double counter alternative” without cloning Doogle. The member solves Cloudflare Turnstile. Network intel uses IPinfo, DB-IP, FireHOL, StopForumSpam, IPsum, X4BNet, Tor, and iptoasn. Staff see “VPN detected” or “linked to a banned account,” not the raw IP or fingerprints. Correlations are stored as HMACs keyed with WEB_VERIFY_HMAC_KEY. Retention is days and months, then pruned. The privacy page is the public contract.
Each detection is off, log only, extra check, staff review, or block. You can watch in monitor-only first, then enforce. Alt detection is local (links made in this server) or global (alts of members banned here, found through any server using BetterAntispam). Same device, same IP, and same network still only count accounts that verified in this server. That is not a paid lookup of a stranger who never joined you.
| Group | Checks you can toggle |
|---|---|
| Connection | VPN, proxy, residential proxy, Tor, datacenter / cloud, known abusive IP, mobile data, iCloud Private Relay, school / work network, hidden VPN, time zone mismatch, country rules, blocked ASNs |
| Alt accounts | Same device, same IP, same network, alt of a banned member, look-alike usernames |
| Discord account | New account, no profile picture, repeated failed attempts |
| Browser | Automated browser, fingerprint blocked, verification burst, no human interaction |
VPN, proxy, Tor, hidden VPN, countries, networks, every alt-account check, account checks, and Global / Local are free. Shield unlocks datacenter / cloud, residential proxy, mobile data, known abusive IP, iCloud Private Relay, school / work, time zone mismatch, automated browser, fingerprint blocked, and auto-ban for alt accounts.

The page members see is yours. From /verification settings, open Customize verify page. That editor is for appearance, not for flipping protection rules.
Free: ready-made looks (Neon night, Winter, Sakura, Hacker, Aurora glass, Deep space), any font, your profile picture, banner, rules, and link buttons.
Shield: your own colours, gradients and backgrounds, animated effects, titles, text, images, social icons, countdown, member count, music, custom wording, and CSS. Live preview on desktop and phone. With Shield, changing the Discord panel colour also syncs the page colour. The panel banner follows the website banner when the panel has no image of its own.
You sign in with Discord and need Manage Server in that server. That login designs the page. /verification settings still owns the checks.
Double Counter’s free verify page carries Ezoic ads unless you pay Pro. BetterAntispam does not put an ad network on the gate.
The rest of the BetterAntispam stack
This is the list Double Counter’s public pages do not cover. Every row is a real command.
Join raids and the panic switch
/antiraid settings (Administrator) watches join rate and suspicion. Join-rate auto-scales with server size: under 50 members, 3 joins in 10 seconds is worth noticing and 5 is a strong signal; thresholds rise through tiers up to 100k+. Manual default with auto-scale off is 5 joins in 10 seconds. Suspicion presets: 4 strict, 6 balanced, 8 lenient. A CAPTCHA gate for suspected raiders defaults to 120 seconds (10–600). Actions: kick, ban, mute, automatic lockdown, DM, log. Shield adds similar-username detection and custom suspicion weights.
/raidmode (Administrator) is the “I am being raided right now” switch: enable / disable, punishment kick (default) or ban / mute, optional delay, optional DMs. It is separate from always-on antiraid.
Chat abuse
/antispam settings (Administrator): floods (default 5 messages in 5000 ms), duplicates (3 identical, 2 if very short), 70% caps, overlong messages, ghost pings, link spam, embed spam, reaction spam, edit spam, 3 warnings then a 5-minute mute, 50-word blacklist on free. Shield: external bot-command spam, blacklists over 50 words, punishment approval gate.
/adblock settings (Administrator): ads in chat and in profiles.
/antiping settings (Administrator): ping protection through Discord’s own AutoMod keyword rules.
/selfbot settings (Administrator): behavioural self-bot detection. Rapid self-delete, invite in status, rapid edits, absent typing, instant reply, and reaction spam are Shield.
/imagefilter settings (Administrator): image scanning. Shield entirely.
/honeypot settings (Manage Server): trap channels no legitimate member should post in. Softban by default. Voice traps are Shield.
Compromised staff
/antinuke settings (Administrator) watches the audit log for mass channel or role deletion, mass bans, webhook creation, and permission grabs. It can quarantine, ban, kick, strip roles, and revert. Free toggles default on. /scan (Administrator) audits dangerous @everyone overwrites and other bots holding Administrator.
Cleanup and locks
| Command | Job | Permission | Honest limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| /purge | Delete messages in this channel | Administrator | Max 1000 per run |
| /nuke | Wipe a channel in place | Administrator | Max 1000 |
| /unnuke | Roll back a nuke from the audit log | Administrator | Uses Discord’s audit log |
| /autonuke settings | Scheduled recurring purges | Administrator | Free: 1 channel, minimum 7 days |
| /snipe | Browse and restore deleted messages | Manage Messages | Free bulk restore capped at 50 |
| /lockdown | Lock a channel; all / unlockall are Shield | Administrator | — |
| /serverlock | Lock the whole server; password mode is Shield | Administrator | — |
| /slowmode | 0–21600 seconds | Manage Channels | Discord’s range |
| /slowmodebulk | Rules across channels | Manage Channels | Shield entirely |
| /invitelock, /dmlock | Lock invite creation / DMs | Manage Server | — |
| /prune | Remove inactive or roleless members | Kick Members | — |
Discord’s bulk-delete API only works on messages under 14 days old. /ban purge_days maxes out at 7 days. /mute and /warn can delete at most 100 recent messages. Those are Discord’s caps.
Everyday moderation
/ban, /tempban, /unban (Ban Members), /kick (Kick Members), /mute, /unmute, /warn, /warnings, /case, /quarantine (Moderate Members). Most take reason, dm_user, additional_users, and proof. /warnings settings sets a 1–20 threshold then mute, kick, or ban. Members contest with /appeal submit. Staff tune /appeal settings. Custom appeal title, description, color, and DM wording are Shield.
Setup, logs, and look
/settings is the hub. /find jumps to a setting by name. /logging settings routes antispam, antinuke, moderation, messages, roles, channels, verification, joins, leaves, and cases. /welcome settings and /autorole cover join presentation. /language set changes the bot language. /recoverykey is the recovery secret. /help, /info, /feedback, /changelog are the rest of the admin surface.
/customize (Shield) changes how BetterAntispam looks in this server: nickname, avatar, banner, bio, and name style (fonts, effects, colors). Protection and slash commands stay the same.
Free covers every core security system. Shield is sold only through Discord’s store. There is no Tier 2 plan for customers.
The 4 October 2026 Double Counter data breach
This is the query behind is double counter safe and double counter data leak. The source of record is Double Counter’s own incident report, published 5 October 2026. Have I Been Pwned added the incident as Double Counter on 7 October 2026. Our longer writeup is Double Counter Data Breach: Token Leak Explained.
A retired OVH dedicated server from a previous hosting setup was still online. It ran a public Metabase install. The attacker forged an administrator session, found a Google Cloud admin key and a saved admin CLI session, opened a shell in a running bot container, and read the Discord bot token. From that moment they were Double Counter in every server that had invited the bot.
| Fact from their report | Number |
|---|---|
| Attacker time in the cloud | 5 h 51 min (12:03 → 17:54 UTC, 4 October) |
| Database copy | About 12 GB |
| Servers where the stolen token posted attacker invites | About 50 large servers |
| Fraudulent charges on a sibling Atis account | $7,316 |
| CNIL notification | 5 October 2026, ref. FR2610050000001 |
| Bot restored with new credentials | 19:19 UTC |
They treat the full verified-user IP table as exposed because the copy was interrupted about 20% through and they cannot tell which rows left. Their table: about 27 million IP-to-Discord-ID rows partly copied, about 44 million user-agent hashes copied, about 1.3 million emails copied. VPN logs and behavioural fingerprints were listed as not copied. Discord passwords were never in that database.
Verification buttons failed with Discord’s “The application didn’t respond in time” while the token was reset, the database password was changed, and the product was taken offline. The stolen token posted the attacker’s invite, as Double Counter, in about 50 large servers, and granted Administrator on Double Counter’s own support server.
Have I Been Pwned indexed emails and usernames from the incident. Copied rows stay copied. “Contained” is not “gone.”
I will not pretend BetterAntispam is unhackable. The operational lesson is ordinary: do not leave a retired analytics box attached to production keys, and do not build a 40-million-ID search engine on top of a verify click if you are not ready to lose that graph.
Doogle is the privacy argument, not a side note
Doogle’s own docs say it is powered by the same pipeline as verification. r/discordapp already called that a privacy invasion a year before this breach. No Text To Speech walked the household-IP problem: roommates and family on one connection become “alts.” Panley wrote after the incident that they were caught with data they should not have had. That is an opinion about GDPR. The CNIL filing is not.
Double Counter’s privacy policy says they do not sell stored personal data or IP addresses. They do sell Doogle subscriptions that return associated accounts, and the free verify page uses Ezoic. I treat Doogle as a paid people-search on a verification graph. /privacy opt-out that you must repeat on every linked account, and that only works in a server where the bot is installed, is a weak answer to “I never invited this company.”
BetterAntispam does not sell that graph. Website Captcha alt checks exist so your bans stick, not so a stranger can buy a lookup.
Which Moderation Bot Should You Choose?
BetterAntispam if the search was double counter alternative and you want verification plus antispam, antiraid, antinuke, honeypot, and cleanup in Discord. /verification settings is the door. Website Captcha is the web option. There is no Doogle.
Double Counter if a paid cross-server alt graph is the product you actually want, you accept dashboard-only setup, and you have read the October 2026 report and still want that network.
Wick if a compromised moderator deleting channels is the nightmare, and you will finish Wick’s setup. Several advanced protections are Premium. Start at what Wick is.
Dyno if the server already lives in Dyno’s automod module.
YAGPDB if someone on staff enjoys Advanced Automoderator.
Carl-bot if reaction roles and logging are the product. Start at Carl-bot docs.
MEE6 if the server already pays for MEE6 Premium and will not move XP.
ProBot if welcome images and ProBot automod are already the stack.
Do not install all seven. AutoMod plus one protection bot plus one engagement bot is the stack that still works at 3 a.m. If you only needed Double Counter for a verify button, you do not need to keep Doogle to replace the button.
FAQ
Is BetterAntispam a Double Counter alternative?
For verification, VPN / proxy / alt checks, raids, nukes, honeypots, and chat abuse, yes. For a public paid lookup of other people’s accounts, no. We do not operate Doogle. Run /verification settings (Administrator) and pick Website Captcha if you want the web gate.
Who wins BetterAntispam vs Double Counter?
Depends on the job. Double Counter is deeper on a cross-server identity graph they sell as Doogle. BetterAntispam is broader on protection you configure in Discord, including five verification modes and the rest of the stack above. We have not benchmarked detection accuracy.
Is Double Counter safe after the data breach?
Their report says the incident is contained and the bot was restored at 19:19 UTC on 4 October 2026. Have I Been Pwned still lists the breach. Copied IPs, user-agent hashes, and emails are not un-copied. Safety now is a trust decision about leftover data and about Doogle, not only about whether the token was rotated.
Does Double Counter have antispam, anti-raid, and anti-nuke?
Their features page lists raid prevention and verification. It does not publish a chat-flood antispam suite, honeypots, or an audit-log anti-nuke like /antinuke settings. Peakbot’s 2026 alternatives article claimed Double Counter has no captcha gate and no anti-raid; that is stale against Double Counter’s own site. Use their docs, not a competitor scorecard.
Does BetterAntispam have a web captcha?
Yes. Website Captcha is a mode inside /verification settings. Unique link, Turnstile, and the security detections listed above. The page is customizable. Protection rules stay in the slash-command panel.
Does BetterAntispam sell member data?
No. We do not offer a public alt-search website. Staff see summaries, not raw IPs. The Website Captcha privacy page is the public description.
Can I keep Double Counter and add BetterAntispam?
Yes, if you want Doogle and a protection stack. Do not run two bots that both punish the same join or the same message. Pick one door and one automod engine besides Discord’s.
Is there a free Double Counter alternative?
BetterAntispam’s core verification (including Website Captcha checks that are listed as free), antispam, antiraid, antinuke, honeypot, lockdown, moderation, and logging are free. Shield is the extras listed above. Discord’s own verification level, AutoMod, and Pause Invites are free and should stay on regardless of which bot you pick.
Final Verdict
BetterAntispam vs Double Counter is not a catch-rate contest we have run. Double Counter is the alt-graph specialist with dashboard setup, a web verify page that can show ads, and Doogle. BetterAntispam is the Discord-native protection stack: /verification settings for button, image, math, word, or Website Captcha, then antispam, antiraid, raidmode, antinuke, honeypot, and the rest of the commands above. After 4 October 2026, if you searched double counter alternative, invite BetterAntispam, run /setup, and read their incident report before you put the same graph back on the door.
